Fallout 3

At the recent show at E3 in Los Angeles last month, Bethesda provided reviewers with a brief demonstration of the latest iteration of the popular adventure game. The play remains very open-ended in which decisions made by the players and the actions they take have consequences in the story. As a result, others within the world you play in will react to you based on your previous behaviour, good or bad.

The game begins with your character entering the devastated world just beyond the town of Megaton. The primary interface device, known as the Pip Boy carried by the players controls your abilities and skills as well as allowing you to view your inventory. The controls are intuitive regardless of the system it is played on.

Although the game can be played as a classical first person-shooter experience, you can choose to go into third-person mode depending on the circumstances.

The game can be tailored to match the style of play of the gamer. As you achieve and master each level, you can assign your points to various skill sets. You can also allocate bonus points to various attributes. As you move about the game, anything that is destroyed during the game has the option of dropping items to be grabbed by you and placed into your inventory. When the time comes, these items can be sold.

The NPCs in the game are very interactive and react to your behaviour, so you must choose your behaviour wisely as the impact can be far reaching. The graphics are well done, albeit pretty bloody and the sound quality is impressive.
